Charity Times We developed a subscriber acquisition and retention programme using loose inserts, a 4-page direct mail package, emails and a completely fresh renewal effort sequence with incentivised offers and specially-written copy. 
History Today Falling renewal levels indicated a requirement for a radically new renewal series. We devised a new renewal effort sequence with the introduction of special offers and brand-new copy.
New African The publisher wanted a re-thought approach to their next direct mail campaign; we devised and wrote a new direct mail package with heavy emphasis on strong copy. We also undertook extensive research to identify the highly specific lists to reach the target market of business people working in countries of the African sub-continent.

We analysed subscriber acquisition activity and created new material including an A5 loose insert and a 4-page direct mail package.

 

We were also asked to plan and implement the launch marketing for a new online service, LTTxtra.This involved copywriting for both websitte pages and primted material.

 

New Internationalist After detailed discussions with the client about the creative approach theyd been using on subscriber recruitment, we put forward the idea of removing all visual contempt from the mailing, replacing it with an American style long copy letter of 4 pages.
Inside Housing Subscriptions are sold to two types of audience - operators of social housing and suppliers to the sector. We devised and created copy for 2 types of direct mail and produced a clever format to allow both letter and order form to be personalised simultaneously.
Nursing Standard We persuaded our client to throw away the existing mail pack and created a completely new and simpler mailing using no more than a 4-page letter and order form. The resulting response increases on large scale controlled testing astounded the client.
Harpers Wine and Spirit Upon acquisition, this title was in need of a completely fresh renewal programmer. We devised and structured a new 9-effort series using mail and email with different series for UK and Overseas subscribers. Special offers were inserted into the earlier stages with sharply focused copy and variable visual approaches.
Music Teacher We developed a completely fresh approach to selling subscriptions, creating a 4-page direct mail letter and a highly effective loose insert for cross-selling to sister titles.
Time Out London The weekly listings magazine used insert cards in retail copies to generate direct debit paying subscribers: we developed a creative approach that clarified the offer and focused on editorial benefits. Results from the test showed the new approach to increase response significantly.
Training Journal An across-media creative solution was developed for selling subscriptions using free trial emails, direct mail and loose inserts.
Ethical Performance We convinced the client that the right way to sell subscription to this high-price newsletter is using Forced Free Trial - where a 3-month supply of copies is sent to potential subscribers unrequested. Alongside the free trial runs a sequence of specially written letters during the trial and after it ends. The publisher was delighted with the number of orders using this low-cost technique.

We wrote fresh copy for the emails selling delegate places at a major industry event, producing 50% more click-throughs than the client's existing emails.
